OVERVIEW
This year’s ASDW, holds the theme of “Sustainable Solutions for the Future: embracing resilience, adaptability, and progress in the ever-evolving Arab world”
In recent years, the Arab world has witnessed remarkable advancements in various sectors, making it a region of great promise and potential. To further harness these opportunities and address the challenges faced by our communities, ASDW 2024 focuses on integrating multiple pillars crucial to sustainable development. The chosen pillars, namely Technology, Climate, Finance, Food Security, Conflict-Affected Regions, Business & Charity, Humanitarian Affairs, Sustainable Tourism, and Arab-Arab Entities Cooperation, have been thoughtfully selected to align with the current needs and aspirations of the Arab nations. By integrating these pillars, we aim to foster comprehensive and holistic approaches to sustainable development that not only contribute to economic growth but also promote social inclusion and environmental stewardship.
Furthermore, ASDW advocates for strengthened cooperation among Arab entities. The power of collaboration cannot be overstated, and together, we can overcome barriers and achieve shared goals. By fostering Arab-Arab cooperation, we can unlock vast potential in trade, knowledge-sharing, and joint initiatives that address regional challenges more effectively.
In conclusion, ASDW 2024 aspires to be a transformative event that leverages the collective strength of the Arab nations, building a future that is resilient, equitable, and prosperous. We invite all stakeholders, governments, private sector organizations, civil society, academia, and youth to actively engage in this endeavor, as together, we pave the way for a sustainable and inclusive Arab future. Let us unite, innovate, and seize the opportunities of tomorrow for the advancement of our region and its people.
ABOUT 3RD AL BARAKA REGIONAL CONFERENCE
The 3rd Al Baraka Regional Conference titled “”Innovative Strategies for Poverty Alleviation: Integration Between Islamic Economics and Sustainable Development” will specifically focus on analyzing the main causes of poverty in the Arab and Islamic world, including economic and social issues. The conference will explore innovative, sustainable solutions based on Islamic economic principles that promote sustainable development application for all communities. Additionally, the conference will promote regional cooperation among Arab nations to share best practices for poverty alleviation while leveraging Egypt’s Vision 2030 framework to align national and regional efforts with these goals. The conference aims to gather experts to devise sustainable strategies to combat poverty that are aligned with Islamic principles. A report analyzing the root causes of poverty in OIC member states will also be presented, diagnosing the current situation. Innovative and sustainable strategies are vital for achieving stability and prosperity. By utilizing local resources and Islamic economic principles, stakeholders can significantly improve the quality of life in communities.
